Different filters

Activated Carbon Filters

These are also known as carbon filters or pre-filters and are generally responsible for removing larger particles like sediment and silt from your water. They work by attracting and absorbing these particles so they’re no longer present in the liquid that comes out of your faucet.
An activated carbon filter will also make sure the end result has less in the way of odour and tastes much better. This is because they reduce the amount of chlorine and other contaminants that can make your water smelly or just darn right unpleasant to drink.

Reverse Osmosis

This type of filter is incredibly popular mainly because it has the ability to remove all sorts of contaminants that can be a danger to your health, as well as making sure the end result is clear and odour free.I know this sounds a little vague, so if you want to find out more, feel free to take a look at my section reverse osmosis water filter.

Science

On the 22/2/19 we did a filtration experiment.

The experiment:
Can we filter dirty water with a number of substances?

Equipment:
Funnel
Chronicle flask
Small rocks
Saw dust
Cotton balls
filter paper
Dirty water

Method:
We got the rocks and put them in to the funnel then poured the dirty water into it which the rocks helped get the big clumps of dirt out.
We then put saw dust into a different funnel which helped get some of the dirty colours out of the water. Then we put a few cotton ball into the filter and poured the water into the funnel which helped get the water a bit clearer. Finally we put out filter paper which got it clearer then it started. I think we could of gotten the water even clearer if we tried a different technique.

Please feel free to leave comments!

THE GIVER- Review

This movie is about the haunting story of THE GIVER Jonas, a young man who lives in a seemingly ideal, if colourless, world of conformity and contentment. Yet as he begins to spend time with The Giver, who is the sole keeper of all the community's memories, Jonas quickly begins to discover the dark and deadly truths of his community's secret past. With this newfound power of knowledge, he realises that the stakes are higher than imagined - a matter of life and death for himself and those he loves most. At extreme odds, Jonas knows that he must escape their world to protect them all - a challenge that no one has ever succeeded at before.

Lets just say I enjoyed this move so much their aren't many ways I can put it in words but one reason is because  because it was filled with the unexpected and would make my heart race during the most defenceless  times of the movie.

I think the purpose of the movie was to make you feel beyond what you might think in you everyday life, and maybe this may be the future for out great, great, great, great grandchildren.

My favourite part of the movie was when Jonas discovered love, happiness, dancing, emotions and adrenaline.
