The Keyboard

 The Keyboard
Image result for keyboard piano on stand

What the is the difference between a piano and a keyboard?

A 'piano' is an acoustic instrument with weighted keys whereas a 'keyboard' is an electric instrument (requiring a power source) with unweighted (lighter) keys than a piano. But pianos need to be tuned regularly, which can be expensive. Keyboards never need to be tuned.

Keyboards are also much more easy to transport as they are quite, slim and rectangular, as pianos are big, bulky and heavy.

Stevie Wonders

  • Stevie Wonder is one of the most revered music makers of our time.
  • In his 53-year career, he has recorded for only one record label: Tamla, one of the Motown imprints.
  • When he plays keyboards, he doesn't use his right thumb.
  • He and Bob Dylan both released their debut albums in 1962
  • Wonder has two sons with Kai Millard: Kailand and Mandla. He also has two children with wife Tomeeka.

Keyboard reflection.
I really enjoyed playing the keyboard because it was nice and easy to learn and understand. I often got a bit slow around the chorus because I usually memorise the chords. I was playing shallows by lady gaga. That was one of the more easier options, I originally started playing old town road but found that a bit tricky so I switched to the shallows.

Greek Mythology

Greek Mythology

Zeus:
Zeus was the king of the Greek gods who lived on Mount
Olympus. He was the god of the sky and thunder.
His symbols include the lightning bolt, the eagle, the bull,
and the oak tree.

Athena:
Goddess of wisdom, war and the crafts, and favourite
daughter of Zeus, Athena was, perhaps, the wisest,
most courageous, and certainly the most resourceful of the
Olympian gods. Accordingly, when Metis was pregnant,
he swallowed her and Athena was born from Zeus head,
wearing armour and fully grown.

Poseidon: Poseidon was the god of the sea, earthquakes
and horses. Although he was officially one of the supreme
gods of Mount Olympus, he spent most of his time in his
watery domain. Poseidon was brother to Zeus and Hades.
Poseidon vied with Athena to be patron deity of Athens.

10/10 *
10/10 Nice and chewy, soft in the middle

This feedback came from a selection of teachers.

Alternatives

How could we make our recipe lower in sugar?
We could replace the sugar with honey or maple syrup.

How could we make our recipe dairy free?
We could replace the butter with olivani or canola spread.

How could we make our recipe healthier?
We could replace the chocolate chips with apricots and cranberries.

I My thought on this recipe is that it worked really well and the total outcome was really good. This recipe is fantastic and I would highly recommend, it has a quick cooking time and the actual cooking has a crisp outside with a gooey soft inside and it tastes delicious

Cats The Musical

In drama we have been working on the cats musical and we have made our own costumes and done our own make up

My cat is Demeter and she is a fun energetic cat.
She loves to dance and she has always been a enthusiastic cat.

I made my own costume using a old leopard print dress and i sewed a tail in the end.

Last week we did a performance and we got into our costumes and
Dressed up we danced to the gelacle cats sound track. my friends and I made up a little routine, and we followed it while miss was videoing us.

I think something I could of worked on better is timing because I was a bit out of time towards the end of the dance, and I think everyone needed to remember the circle and the triangle part of our routine.

during the routine towards the end I did a high pitched singing aaahhhhhhh

Government

In social studies we have been learning about the different types of government and what they do.

  • Legislative Government
  • The Legislature (Parliament) is our House of Representatives (where all the MP’s (Members of Parliament) sit, debate, and vote.
  • They supply the Government, make new laws, and update old ones, representing all New Zealanders by giving a voice to different ideas from people and organisations, examine and approve the government’s taxes and spending, and a whole lot more.
  • The executive- Government cabinet
  • This is the Cabinet.  It runs the country and makes day-to-day decisions on how and what NZ should spend its money on.
  • It brings proposed laws to parliament, and decides policies which get put into practice by government departments.
  • It is made up of Ministers of the crown supported by government agencies. E.g. Minister of Education.
  • Judiciary Government
  • The judiciary are judges and the courts as well as the police.
  • Judges interpret the law in cases that come before the courts by hearing and deciding cases, and they can review decisions in government.
  • Judges are appointed by the Governor General and are separate from parliament.
We had to make a presentation about a type of government that we chose I chose Saudi Arabia, Saudi Arabia is an absolute monarchy. Saudi Arabia is run by a king and the royal family is the Al Saud family. The current king is Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and in line to the throne is Mohamed Bin Al Saud.

Dry Ice

A couple of days ago in science class we did an experiment using the involvement of dry ice. we started by getting into small groups, filled our beaker up with a bit of water, using some tongs  we got our piece of dry ice, took it back over to the beaker, dropped it in and watched the magic happen. The dry ice started to bubble and you could pour it on the table and play with the steam like substance. I didn't  known much about dry ice before that experiment but it is for sure something I would like to do again. Would you do this experiment if you had a chance to?This image below is not my image because I didn't get a photo, it is one off the internet.

Short Story

Footsteps slowly creaked on every step of the stairs, with a high pitch sound echoing through the hallway as if the teacher was running her fingers down a chalk board. I hug my blanket viciously as the bedroom door handle slowly turns. My heart skips a beat faster than a jump rope and a chills rush down my spine as a dark figure barges through the door. All I could see was a silhouette of the dark shady figure, with eyes greener than a forest and a hook for a hand sharper than a knife. The shady man comes closer and through the gap between the window the moonlight shins relieving he is wearing a ski mask darker than the midnight sky. This was the man that murdered the school music teacher and and midge at the school musical and the janitor this is the man that refers to him self as the black hood. This is the man that believes I am like him this is the man that made me bury my best friend alive and this is the man who is my father, this is the man that tried to kill me at prom and this is the man that used me to fake his own death he his a cereal killer he is a monster.
