trolley cart scenario

The Trolley Problem: A Thought Experiment That Tests Our Morality ...Is it better to harm many people in order to save one or is it better to harm one person in order to save many people? The trolley cart scenario is a very well known conundrum that different people have different perspectives and opinions on.
If you were in a trolley cart and the carts brakes suddenly wouldn't work and you were going at a very high speed would you if you were given the opportunity pull the lever and switch tracks and save one person but it would result in you harming many others or would you save many others and it would result in you harming one what would you do?

Many people say that they would sacrifice one person in order to save many others. If we were to change the conundrum slightly and say that there were 5 strangers and  a close friend would you still harm your close friend in order to save 5 people or would your opinion change depending who it was?

For example, think of yourself as a doctor. There are five people that need organ transplants, one needs a heart, one needs a liver, one needs a kidney, one needs a lung and the other needs a pancreas without the transplant they would die. You happen to have a very unwell patient in the next room that has a perfectly healthy heart, liver, kidney, lung and pancreas would you if you were given the opportunity would you sacrifice that one unwell patient in order to save the five that need the transplants or would you keep the one person alive and let the five that need the transplant die?

For my mum i made chicken drumsticks with a couscous salad.
First I marinated the chicken  drumsticks with soy sauce, garlic, brown sugar, ginger and a little bit of chili. then i let them marinate for a hour or two, i would've liked to marinate them for longer but then i wouldn't of completed them in the correct time frame. After i marinated them i started to cook them and after they cooked for around 30 mins i put the stir fry veges in a pan and began to fry them while the couscous was cooking. I cooked the veges until they looked the right color and texture.

When i was plating the dish i decided to shape the couscous into a mold so the presentation would look better, and then laid the drumsticks beside it on a diagonal. I served the meal with a nice cold glass of lemonade then we ate it and my mum reviewed me.

My mum review:

Tonight for dinner Keira served me marinated chicken drumsticks with a warm vegetable and couscous salad.

Presentation
9/10
It was very well presented with the salad molded into a pile. Looked very small on the plate though as 3/4 of the plate was empty. Would probably have given 10/10 if it had been served on a smaller plate.

Marinated chicken drumsticks
7/10
The marinade had a very nice flavor and was well balanced. It is a shame the chicken wasn't marinated for longer as it really only flavored the skin and not the chicken meat. The chicken was well cooked and not dry. The chicken skin was soft, i would have preferred it to be crispy/caramelized.

Warm vegetable and couscous salad
10/10
The vegetables were nicely prepared. They still had a slight crunch just the way I like them. The cous cous was well cooked, beautifully seasoned and the grains separated well. The addition of the citrus soy dressing tied the salad nicely to the chicken.

Overall it was a nice dinner but could have been better if Keira put more effort into managing her time.
